Foreword 

Currently in the UK, E5 petrol, meaning petrol containing up to 5% ethanol is the only type available for motorists to use, but a 10% ethanol blend, is now on the horizon. In March’s edition, we noted the opening of a consultation for E10 from the UK government, the roll out of which would see the UK catch up with many other countries in Europe including Belgium, Finland, France and Germany. This consultation called for industry views on the introduction of E10 and NNFCC, among others interested parties like the trade association UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association (UKIFDA), submitted a response with our views before the closure on 3rd May.
Velocys, the UK-based sustainable fuels technology company, have announced that planning permission has been granted for their waste to SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) plant in Lincolnshire. The site will be the UK’s first and is expected to.........
